Dilworth Park's Rothman Cabin Events!
Double the Events, Double the Fun!
Rothman Cabin is outdoing themselves yet again for another festive (and cold) holiday season! On Tuesday evenings at 6pm they host everyone’s bar favorite -- Quizzo! And on Friday nights from 7-10pm you’ll find the Cabin bumpin’ with all sorts of fun tunes for karaoke!
Quizzo was a whirlwind of fun. Though, I will note, the host moves QUICKLY! So make sure you’re listening to his every question so you can really play to the best of your ability! And he doesn’t play by “theme.” In December his one to two hour game was filled with questions from all different fields – politics, history, pop culture, sports, etc.
Karaoke… one would THINK it’d be a funny, embarrassing time, but instead the newest class of the University of the Arts was in the cabin the night I was there and they were TALENTED. My friends and I had chills almost the whole night!!! Songs from Adele, Usher, Sinatra, and more were sung… and sung WELL! I wanted to get up there and break out my vocal cords, but for the ears of everyone there… it’s best I didn’t! We ended up being there even past 10pm playing games like Apples to Apples, reliving some of the night’s best karaoke participants, and the delectable dessert!!! Which leads me to the best part….
Personally, I believe the best part of these events are that they’re served alongside some tasty food!! And I’m not talking about some lukewarm mozz sticks or a cold tuna sandwich – ew. What I AM talking about is as follows: loaded cheese fries (minus the bacon), the triple grilled cheese with tomato bisque, the buffalo mac n cheese (minus the chicken), and who can forget the glorious peppermint brownie sundae. Talk about dessert #goals. I realllly loved everything I sampled and I’m not just saying that to say it. I NEED that tomato bisque recipe – so creamy and perfect for cold days and nights! Oh and I should mention…there ARE lots of meat options for my meat lovers out there, I just personally didn’t taste those items because #KosherProbz. I did luckily bring some friends along who get down with some spicy chicken and delicious-smelling turkey quinoa chili. They said it was all so good!
Also if you’re like me and enjoy a piping hot drink, Rothman cabin offers hot apple cider and it’s soooo on point with the winter vibes. For Quizzo I ordered mine with a shot of fireball and at karaoke I got the cider with not a drop of liquor. Looking back I definitely did that wrong – could’ve totally used the Fireball to get me warmed up for karaoke night ;)
I’m not the only one who thinks the food from Brulée catering served at Rothman Cabin is yummy because during the hours I spent there, there was constantly a line! Seems like the community loves it as much as I do! If you haven’t been, what’re you waiting for?! The rink and cabin won’t be there once spring arrives!! Quizzo ends on Feb 19th and Karaoke ends on Feb 22nd. Soooo go ASAP and feel free to email or DM me what you thought! I’d love to know :)
The amazingly talented UArts students!
