The Best Things to Buy During Sephora's Spring 2020 Sale
What is normally a rush to the closest Sephora during the two-week sale is now all going to be online this year. Thanks, Covid-19! But I’m just grateful for my health & at this point who cares how we “have” to shop. Online is easier anyway! The deets of the sale are as follows:
ROUGE: Friday, 4/17 – Friday, 5/1 20% off
VIB: Tuesday, 4/21 – Wednesday, 4/29 15% off
INSIDER: Thursday, 4/23 – Monday, 4/27 10% off
Typically I take this sale to stock UP! But with the way the world currently is financially, I personally will be buying a lot less. Honestly, only snagging the items that I think are stellar & I use on a regular basis. With that being said, this post (or whoever else’s you may read) should not act as a pressuring tactic. Instead, it’s a guide, a resource that IF you want to splurge a tad, refer here! And if you just wanna “window shop,” be my guest! No matter why you’re here reading I hope you find this guide helpful!
*Note, the items below are ALL things I own & use. I chose them this time around based on all the requests I received.
SKINCARE
Cleanser - bought this because the lady in the store told me “oh you NEED to.” So I bought it with every intention of returning it the next day. Well I kept it & still to this day use it. I even buy it for friend’s as their birthday gift because I really believe in this product.
Moisturizer - this is the holy grail & won’t make your wallet cry. I swear by this one & I’ve even gotten Daniel hooked on it!! We’ve even been using it on our hands too because the more we do the dishes & are constantly washing our hands to prevent germs, the more dry our hands become. Overnight this stuff brings our hands back to life! 10/10 recommend. *This is one of the products I’m buying again myself during the sale.
Toner - it’s a tie between this one & this one. I love Caudalie’s because it’s “clean at Sephora,” it’s super refreshing & affordable. But I also love the rose toner because ommmmg the smell is divine, it makes my skin feel amazing & it really helps balance dry skin.
Lip Repair - there is no one in the world who can speak poorly on this. I didn’t believe the hype when everyone first was talking about this. I just thought it was another “fad.” People!!! It’s not. It’s actually freakin amazing & I find myself reaching for it daily. It may seem overpriced for what some consider “chapstick” but it is worth every.single.penny. *This is one of the products I’m buying again myself during the sale.
Eye Cream - you need something that will act as a catalyst for improving dark circles? This is your cream. Anytime someone asks for input in this department, I share this exact product. It’s SO good.
Vitamin C Serum - I hate when a serum is sticky & I’m proud to declare, this one isn’t!! I’ve seen my skin become more glowy from a month of using this. That’s a major win in my book! *This is one of the products I’m buying again myself during the sale.
Peel - this says a daily peel, but start SLOW. Especially if your skin isn’t used to these types of acid. If there was one product that I had to tell girls, “this will change your skin for the better in the least amount of time,” it’s THIS. It’s not cheap — you get what you pay for though, I promise. And now is a great time to buy because of the sale!
Everyday Mask - I bought this the day it became available to the public & am now on my fourth tube if that helps you put in perspective how much I love this. A lot of people think because it’s a “mask” you wash it off. Well, don’t! Apply it at night & let it soak in for hours. I also use it in the winter as a base for my makeup. Pro-tip: store it in the fridge during Spring + Summer for a cooling sensation.
MAKEUP
Mascara - this is my jam. I have tried probably more than 100 mascaras & always come back to this one. It’s a lot — instant length, thickness, boldness. If you want something less dramatic, try this.
Foundation - this is the best liquid foundation for summer. Super silky + breathable.
Eyeliner - I use this anytime I wear a full face. I bought it on a whim more than a year ago & haven’t looked back since. It makes drawing a straight line easy!! If you’d rather a crayon eyeliner this is 100% the best one on the market.
Bronzer - I’m sorry, but does another bronzer even exist? This is a staple every gal needs in her makeup bag.
Blush - stays on for hours without making you look like a clown. Honestly, what else could you ask for?
Setting Spray - another classic. I really believe this works for hours — sealing in every ounce of makeup! If you’d rather a powder this one can’t be beat.
Brow Pencil - haven’t been able to get to your brow girl in weeks? I get it, but once you’re back & she shapes you up you’re going to want (read: need) this pencil that when used properly looks like real little hairs creating a full bushy brow look.
Concealer - I’m actually baffled why this rating on Sephora isn’t higher because everyone I know (including myself) really does love this concealer! The best part is that it’s creaseless.
HAIR
Shampoo - I change my shampoo like people change underwear. So I have a ton of favorites, all different brands, but one I find myself coming back to time & time again is this.
Conditioner - truth be told, conditioner normally makes my hair greasy, but this one not only leaves it smooth, soft & hydrated it FEELS clean. That’s the best!
Dry Shampoo - by now I’m sure y’all know I live off dry shampoo. My absolute favorite isn’t sold at Sephora (DM or email me if you’d like the link!) BUT when I need to switch it up this is the only one I trust. They have it for darker hair too.
Hair “Mask” - my friend Jamie recommended this & holllllly crap does it do wonders. Pro tip: put it on, all over, an hour before you’re about to wash your hair to really let it work its magic.
Root Boost - I blow-dry with a Dyson & before I turn it on I apply two products religiously. The first is this root boost - it really gives so much volume!!
Heat Protectant - the second product I always apply before blowdrying is this to prevent damaged hair from the heat of the Dyson.
